I read this thinking that it was going to be about charitably treating interlocutors in the spirit of leaving a line of retreat ala Yudkowsky. While related, the switch into using fiction as a way to have more serious truthseeking discussions was unexpected.
And it does seem like the fiction part is pretty core to this essay.
Any chance of changing the title (EX: Fiction Allows Better Truthseeking) to something a little more direct?
