Supposedly people who know how to program and have a decent work ethic are a hot commodity. I may happen to know someone this describes who is not currently employed (i.e: Me)
The problem is that employers can’t take your word for it, because there are many people who claim the same but are lying or honestly mistaken.
Do you have, or can you create, a portfolio of things you’ve done? Open-soure contributions are good for this because there’s usually a review process and it’s all publicly visible.
