Reminds me of another view I once saw: Four levels of luck:
1) blind luck—random chance (“you stumble on something”) 2) activity—if you move around a lot you have a higher chance to hit something (e.g. creating lots of youtube videos—someone will see you) 3) perception—getting better at recognizing promising (“lucky”) situations 4) attracting luck—participating in the blind luck or other of others, becoming attractive or known for skills that are useful—others will search you out when *they* get lucky
