Along the lines of 3a, I consider the word ‘wrong’, and all variations, as if they were uttered at gunpoint. From my own observation the difference between the two is little more than degree. Describing (usually internally) such social influences in terms of raw power allows them to be navigated without having my self concept warped into undesirable patterns or riddled with undesired natural categories.
