There’s no ban on political topics. There’s a ban (or at least a consensus against) topics that tend to generate tribal defensive reactions in a significant number of readers. Politics is rife with such topics, but that doesn’t mean identity with the banned thing. Some politically-relevant topics are acceptable, and some non-political topics aren’t.
You think that an argument that ultimately boils down to “Look how capitalism is a failure at providing basic things” isn’t going to provoke defensive reactions?
