I was actually going to respond with “yeah, I quite liked the article… but wow that one particular line was super weird and silly.”
And yes that makes their argument suspicious, but, well, a) it’s an article about how to do church right, so it’s unlikely I was going to like their epistemics in the first place, b) as weird and silly as that line is, I don’t actually think the argument depends on them having gotten it right.
If they posted on LW I’d criticize it on several levels, but, well, having found it on some random christian website I’m just not going to be evaluating it through that lens unless it really surprises me.
