FYI, the NY group still does this once every few years, with varying degrees of success. It’s just that when most people have read the sequences it gets a bit stale. (From what I gather, most recently there’s been a sequence reading group by people who haven’t read them before, although I’m not 100% sure about the details since I don’t live in NY anymore)
