Could you very briefly say more about what the relevance is, then? Is there some particular aspect of the linked review of which you think I should take note? (Or is it just that you think the whole review is likely to contain some relevant ideas, but you don’t necessarily have any specific parts or aspects in mind?)
Sorry. I spent a few minutes trying to write something and then decided it was going to be more effort than I wanted, so...
I do have something in mind, but I apparently can’t write it down off the cuff. I can gesture vaguely at the title of the book, but I suppose that’s unlikely to be helpful. I don’t have any specific sections in mind.
(I think I’m unlikely to reply again unless it seems exceptionally likely that doing so will be productive.)
I do recall reading and liking that post, though it’s been a while. I will re-read it when I have the chance.
But for now, a quick question: do you, in fact, think that the model described in that post applies here, on Less Wrong?
(If this starts to be effort I will tap out, but briefly:)
It’s been a long time since I read it too.
I don’t think there’s a specific thing I’d identify as “the model described in that post”.
There’s a hypothesis that forms an important core of the book and probably the review; but it’s not the core of the reason I pointed to it.
I do expect bits of both the book and the review apply on LW, yes.
Well, alright, fair enough.

Alright, no worries.
