The state of the art in safety research for autonomous systems is improving, but continues to lag behind capabilities work.
This is in a way surprising given how obsessed our culture is with safety in many other contexts.
I have two questions:
What is the best strategy for persuading governments and others that more resources should be spent on AGI safety research? Do we have good reasons to believe that more resources will be spent on this in the relatively near future?
Thanks. Well written and interesting.
