Now that some more days have passed and more data is in from some countries in Africa and South America I think that the seasonality/temperature claim becomes less plausible: The development of cases in Algeria, Brasil, and Egypt for example show doubling times even worse than the average doubling times in other affected countries (Germany for example which I’m tracking most closely). I think the remaining explanation is much less international traffic to these locations from China.
This is bad news for the hope of summer fixing things.
