It’s not clear that the rise in teenage suicide is a problem. If you look at the statistics at https://afsp.org/suicide-statistics/ you’ll see that the suicide rate in the 15-24 age group has been slowly rising, but is still below that for the 25-34 age group, which has declined a bit recently. A more fine-grained breakdown by age would be helpful, but from this data, it seems possible that the kids are just growing up sooner, moving earlier from the very low suicide rate for the below 15 age group to the rate for adults 25-34. Kids growing up faster is not necessarily a bad thing. (Think: would we necessarily consider them growing up more slowly a good thing?)
