Lets see people who are altruistic and in control of their instincts and emotions enough to not have children in order to alleviate very distant future suffering which to top it all of is a very very abstract argument to begin with, yeah those are the kind who should stop having children first. Great plan.
I first wanted to write “self-defeating” but I soon realized they may actually get their wish, but only if they convince enough of the people who’s kids should be working on friendly AI in 20 something years to rather not have the second or even first one.
But it won’t leave the Earth to “nature” as they seem to be hoping.
