If I wanted to learn about a precise formulation of UDT, where should I look / who should I ask? Info on the wiki is hopelessly outdated, and there lacks a single clear exposition.
Have you read Wei Dai’s posts already? E.g. here and here.
My one-sentence description is “find the best strategy, then follow it.”
If you want a more formal approach, cousin it’s post is probably a good place to start—if you like that, there are more posts by him that might be a good idea to read.

Yup. The simplest formulation I have is this one.
Is anyone working on formalising UDT, TDT, and the like, for publication in academic journals? Has any of it appeared there already?
There is this paper, http://commonsenseatheism.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Hintze-Problem-class-dominance-in-predictive-dilemmas.pdf which was an honors thesis.
