Where machine ethics aka Friendly AI stuff is usually published:
IEEE Intelligent Systems Minds and Machines Ethics and Information Technology AI & Society
Leading researchers: Michael and Susan Anderson, Colin Allen, Wendell Wallach, Bruce McLaren, James Moor, Eliezer Yudkowsky, Blay Whitby, Steve Torrance, John Sullins, J. Storrs Hall, Thomas Powers
Where AGI stuff is usually published:
Journal of Artificial General Intelligence International Journal of Machine Consciousness Artificial Intelligence Cognitive Systems Research Topics in Cognitive Science AI Magazine IEEE Intelligent Systems IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems ...and, well, pretty much any AI journal
Leading researchers: Douglas Lenat, Jurgen Schmidhuber, Stan Franklin, Ben Goertzel, Marcus Hutter, Peter Voss, Pei Wang, Cassio Pennachin, Aaron Sloman, Ron Chrisley, Eliezer Yudkowsky
Where papers about the implications of superintelligence for moral theory could be published:
Ethics Utilitas Philosophy and Public Affairs ...and, well, any general-subject philosophy journal: Mind, Nous, etc.
If SIAI were to use timeless decision theory to develop a new variant of decision network, this could be published in an AI journal or in:
How many of these are easily accessible for those not in a currently academic environment? I ask because it would be helpful if a broader community could read both the SIAI stuff AND the contextual other articles, and because I’ve suffered slight withdrawal systems ever since leaving uni and losing my access to academic journals
Just as with Eliezer’s papers that have been published in academic volumes that almost nobody buys, SIAI could publish the PDFs of the papers on their website for everyone to read, assuming permission from the journal.
