At this moment, the subreddit settings are “anyone can read, only approved members can contribute”. (I hope it also means that only the approved members can vote.)
I’m pretty sure everyone can vote, and that there’s not really a way to stop this. But usually for new subreddits, there aren’t too many trolls, and they few that are there can be easily handled with moderation.
Thanks for the advice! Now I changed the settings to “public” (but I am prepared to change it back anytime if there would be too much abuse). I guess the easiness of joining is more important, especially during the first weeks, until the good debate starts.
