If this post were to move some of the signaling of friendliness-to-progressives closer to the beginning without lowering the density of friendliness-to-right-wingers signaling near the beginning, so as to allow people in both groups who are allergic to writing that isn’t intentionally setting out to indicate friendliness to them to read it comfortably, then several different groups of friends I have outside the LW sphere where such things don’t matter, would become able to read it. I think being able to say “Hey, I think your views were influenced by this guy, whose intentions only sort of match your own” would be great, but as it is, the post starts out in a way that would make many people I know respond “But he seems to be only doing things I agree with so far; [stops reading and decides David Gerard Good]”
To make the case truth-trackingly persuasive to such people would require offering them evidence before they’ve given up on the article that his judgement is sufficiently non-perfect to warrant further consideration, despite that he’s made judgements they would agree with. Right now, that evidence is too far down to get to them before they’ve given up on the article. I’m feeling agitated by the topic of conflicts and people disagreeing in ways that involve stereotyping as members of groups, and as such am not likely to do it usefully if I try to condense claims for that purpose myself at the moment, but I might be able to later if nobody else (such as OP? that would be my preference) has done it by the time I get around to it—but that will likely be in months or never. Extra ideally would be managing to convince people to suppress things like “stereotyping people as members of groups is a thing I might do right now” in themselves, regardless of where they are politically. That sounds pretty hard to do for a post this long, though.

Perhaps when you share the post with friends you could quote some of the bits focused on progressive concerns?
