This seems like it’s pointing at a good thing. As a data point, the proposed responses to my comments would all have seemed friendly and helpful to me, and I’d have had an easy time engaging with the criticism.
His draft response to my VW comment would probably have motivated me to add a note to my initial comment deprecating that reference, or edit it out entirely (with a note clarifying that an edit had been made).
The asymmetry comment he pointed to as helpful (thanks, Vaniver!) actually would have been helpful, if SilentCal hadn’t already taken the initiative (thanks, SilentCal!) and clarified what he took the term to mean.
