But if you can’t say “Oops” and give up when it looks like something isn’t working, you have no choice but to keep shooting yourself in the foot.
I was taught a serious “don’t give up” lesson in 2018 during my thesis development. After 18 months of experimentation I had no good results, and a thesis is supposed to be complete in 6 months in NTUA. One step before giving up and deciding to do a presentation with a failed experiment, I had this last idea which resulted in a successful experiment.
When things get rough, I bring this idea on the surface. BUT, I keep thinking when I should give up and when I shouldn’t. I believe there’s wisdom in applying either, I just lack the wisdom in deciding which is the best for the facing circumstance. Maybe the decision has to do with the eventual gains.
