Does anybody have a good sense of how to estimate the covid risk accrued from staying one night at a hotel, as compared with a baseline risk of living in a house? My gut instinct is that this risk is fairly minimal, but I haven’t seen any good data on it. I’m interested primarily in the risk of occupying a hotel room which could have virus particles from previous guests or transmitted through the HVAC system from guests in other rooms. Transit through common areas can be kept brief and risk in common areas mitigated further by wearing an N95 or similar.
