The concept of “vibe” seems very open to being used as an excuse to read whatever you want into a text, whether it is there or not. Anyone not seeing what you think you see can then be dismissed exactly because they do not see it. Any request for evidence of the “vibe” can be dismissed as missing the point by asking for evidence. What answer can someone give to the accusation, “Yes, you didn’t say that, but you vibed it”?
The concept is similar to “subtext”, but fuzzier. So much fuzzier, that I think perceived “vibe” comes more from the reader than the writer.
