Meetup : Melbourne social meetup
Discussion article for the meetup : Melbourne social meetup
Melbourne’s next social meetup is on Friday 16 November, 6:30 for 7pm, at my house. If you have any trouble working out the location or getting in, you can call me on 0412 996 288.
We’ll get some snacks and organise some form of take-away for dinner. BYO drinks and games.
We always look forward to meeting new people!
This meetup is usually on the third Friday of the month. We also have a regular meetup about practical rationality on the first Friday of each month.
Are you going to have any events over the Christmas holidays?
We could do! Will you be here? We’ll at least repeat this meetup on December 21.
Yeah I’m going to be spending Christmas-New Years in Melbourne. I’ll probably still be in rural Victoria on the 21st though.
We’ll organize something. I’ll talk to people about it at this coming meetup. There are some other non-local Less Wrong people in Melbourne right now too.
I have started a boardgame company whose first game is up on kickstarter at the moment. I’m going to bring the no-art, largely hand written copy that was made for playtesting.

I am looking for rationalist pdfs, ebooks and audiobooks for an upcoming flight. If anyone can bring any of these this Friday, that will be appreciated. (I’ve finished reading the Sequences)
There is, of course: http://hpmor.com/
Eliezer recommends The World of Null-A (which I’ve not yet read) and Eliezer and I recommend David’s Sling.
Eliezer recommends Lawrence Watt-Evens’s fiction. I merely point it out (it’s not particularly well written or engaging, but it is nice to watch a protagonist be completely derailed from a quest to set up a business because he sees an opportunity).
